Swedish Institute opens applications for climate tech leadership programme

The Swedish Institute has announced Impact Pioneers 2025, an eight-week leadership programme for professionals supporting climate tech and green business development. The programme combines weekly online learning with a one-week in-person summit in Stockholm. It is created for individuals who help entrepreneurs and work on initiatives that support the transition to a more sustainable future.

Open to climate tech ecosystem builders

Applications are open to professionals from 26 countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe. The programme is intended for those working in tech hubs, innovation centres, or public sector roles that support climate-focused businesses. Applicants must be able to build international partnerships and share knowledge within their local networks. It is also open to all Swedish tech and Swedish startups working in climate tech and sustainability who want to connect globally and grow their impact.

Learning and collaboration opportunities

Participants will join weekly two-hour online sessions that focus on leadership development, sustainability tools, and ecosystem collaboration. These sessions include expert-led discussions, group work, and peer learning. The goal is to help participants gain fresh perspectives and expand their ability to support climate tech innovation in their communities.

Summit in Stockholm

After completing the online portion, selected participants will take part in a week-long summit in Stockholm. They will visit top innovation hubs, engage with Swedish climate tech leaders, and explore how Sweden fosters sustainable entrepreneurship. The Swedish Institute will cover travel and accommodation expenses for participants, except for those from Saudi Arabia.

Each participant will develop an action plan to apply their new knowledge and connections within their ecosystem. The programme also encourages ongoing collaboration through links with Swedish embassies and fellow participants, supporting a long-term international network for climate tech.
